Sophie West is a Denver-based singer-songwriter currently unveiling her debut EP, Long Time Coming. Blending heartfelt lyrics with a rich, soulful sound, Sophie has now released two tracks of her EP, with the third and final single set to drop in October 2025. Sophie's Story
Sophie West is a Denver-based singer/songwriter whose powerful vocals and captivating storytelling blend blues, soul, and folk influences into heartfelt, personal original songs. A versatile artist, Sophie is also a founding member of West of Fennario, a Colorado jam band.
Sophie's Colorado journey began with her studies at CU Boulder. During her early years in Colorado, she performed with funk bands like Groovealicious and the Pamlico Sound, and co-founded the folk/psychedelic rock group Far Side of the Mountain. Sophie has played iconic venues including the Dickens Opera House, Boulder Theater, and Fox Theater, and opened for touring acts including Orgone and The Samples.
Between stints in Colorado, a transformative 4-month road trip living in her camper van led to a 3-year residency in Memphis, where she continued writing and recording music during the pandemic. While there, she collaborated with Keith Douglas of Tora Tora, co-writing and releasing two singles. In 2024, their song Coming My Way was re-released as a bonus track on Keith's solo album, Remnants of Euphoria.
Born and raised in the vibrant San Francisco Bay Area, Sophie discovered her passion for music at a young age, inspired by her mother's record collection. Studying music as a child and later teaching for Young Performers International, Sophie collaborated with talented musicians like Miles Schon, Jeremy Lyon (King Dream Music, Rainbow Girls), Sunshine Becker (Further, Melvin Seals & JGB, SoVoSo), and Joey Blake (Bobby McFerrin’s Voicestra, Berklee College of Music professor of voice). Sophie’s time in the Bay Area included performing at renowned Bay Area venues such as Yoshi’s, Slim’s, Café Du Nord, Justin Hermann Plaza, and San Francisco City Hall, and working as a session singer, all before graduating from high school!
